Ernest J. Schulmeister, age 95, of Crafton, originally of Moon Run, PA, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024.
Beloved husband of the late Charolette Schulmeister.
Born on December 10, 1928 in Moon Run, PA, he is the son of the late Johanna and Stephen Schulmeister. Ernest was preceded in death by his siblings, Karl, Helen, Anna, Josephine, Anthony, and Frank. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ernie served in the United States Army as part of the 26th Anti-Aircraft Artillery AW Battalion during the Korean War. By the end of his service, he had earned the rank of Corporal.
He enjoyed the outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing, playing golf, or hanging at camp in Cambridge Springs. It was in Cambridge Springs where he met the love of his life, Charlotte, and the two built a beautiful life together.
He spent several years as a carpenter by trade, also working for TWA and then the Red Cross later in life.
Although he had a feisty personality, Ernie was a family man. Above all else, he made it a priority to make sure his family was taken care of.
He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or charity of your choice.
Family and Friends will be received from 9:00 – 10:30 am on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A blessing service will take place following the visitation at 10:30 am, followed by burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 100 Resurrection Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
