Ernest Joseph Sigler

Ernest Joseph Sigler, age 73, passed away February 19th, surrounded by loved ones. Ernie grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and was a 1969 Walsh Jesuit graduate. He went to the University of Akron and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Ernie was a longtime teacher with the Akron City Public Schools. In his final years, he was a proud volunteer at the Dr Robert Smith House in Akron.

Ernie is survived by his three children, Ethan (Jennifer) Sigler of Hudson, Ohio, Emily Sigler of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Robert Sigler of San Francisco, California, his beloved grandchildren, Samantha and Jack and siblings, Edward, Lenore and David.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dr. Bob's House in Akron or the Alzheimer's Association in Ernie's name.

There will be a memorial visitation on Thursday February 22, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm, at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. On Friday February 23, 2024, at 11am there will be a memorial mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 2nd St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
