Ernest Lee White, 56, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on September 1st, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Ernest was born in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Ernest Lee Harris and Olie Helen Louise White.

Ernest graduated from John Adams High School. After high school Ernest had become a self-employed mechanic, which he did up until his passing. Not only was he great with cars, he was also gifted with the art of craftmanship and very handy. He had a love not only for cars, but music, socializing, and entertaining. He enjoyed installing beating systems and detailing.

Preceding Ernest in death are his parents Ernest Lee Harris and Olie Helen Louse White, brother Willie Jr. White, Nephews Larry Smith and Whitney Lax, grandparents Flex Evert & Lucy Neely, Cecil & Evelina Harris as well as a special cousin David Winston, (Whitney Lax and Lil Larry). He leaves to cherish his memory, 7 children, Alicia White, Kayla White, Alonzo Sutherland, Taja Anderson, Zenovia Lottie, Miracle Austin, and Corey Schilling. Along with his sisters Lucy and Larry Smith of Georgia, Felicia White of Columbus Ohio, Delores and (Donald Willis) of Columbus Ohio, Scharoyne Laverne (Harris) White of Atlanta Georgia, Margaret R (Harris) McKinney of Jonesboro Arkansas, Angela Ursery of South Bend IN., Patricia White of South Bend IN.

He had 14 grandchildren, Genesis Dickens, (Noriah) Dickens, Navada Dickens, Prynsess Jiana Page, Ja'Nylaa Blount, Driah White, Larry Lewis Grosek Jr, La'Mir Lewis Grosek, Lexington Lewis Grosek, Ry'lan Gipson, Riley Jackson, Kameron Reid, and Tristin Lottie. With a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him dearly.

Funeral services for Ernest will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
