Ernest Wimer Obituary
Ernest was a caring and loving man who devoted his life to those he loved most. He was a great dad whose strength, guidance, and steady presence meant everything to his family. His kindness, patience, and warm heart touched everyone who knew him.
He proudly worked for 42 years with the United States Postal Service, but his greatest pride was always his family. He found joy in simply being there - offering support, sharing stories, and showing love in quiet, meaningful ways.
Ernest was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carrie Wimer; parents, Cecil and Mary Wimer; his mother, Mary; and his stepson, Stephen Large. Ernest is survived by his son, Timothy Wimer; daughter, Michelle Simpson; his grandchildren, Zachery Wimer, Cheyenne Large, Kyle Simpson, Justin Simpson, Nicole Large, and Kayla Large; and several great-grandchildren who brought him much joy.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering love, and the example he set every day. His family will forever cherish his memory and the many moments they shared with him. Visitation for Ernest will be Thursday March 5, 2026 from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am at O.R. Woodyard Co. 1346 S. High St, Columbus, Oh. 43207. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
