Ernestine J. Bean, 86 of Belton Missouri passed from this life into God's loving arms on Wednesday February 25th, 2026.

Ernestine was born on October 28, 1939 in KCMO to Ernest and Jesse Helen Jones. She lived in Belton for 63 years. In school she had music, choir, Quartettes, Girls glee club, and she went to state competition for voice solos. She received a scholarship for the summer at UMKC. Twenty two years after school, she took her GED and passed on first try ,to receive her diploma.

After she married in 57 she moved to St. Louis. She sang at the USO in St. Louis. She was an art model at Washington University and peoples art center in St. Louis. She owned her own ceramics business, she did finish items for shops around Kansas City. She was ALCUs President at Lord of Love Lutheran church, she was a Sunday school teacher there.

She was involved in skeet shooting, lots of decorating, worked with wood and used power tools. She wrote poetry and was published several times. She loved working with plants, landscaping and working in a small greenhouse.

She was a PBX operator (switchboard) and receptionist for 32 years. She took a state test and ranked one of the top 5 in the state for I and II. She enjoyed making clothes for her girls and herself. She also enjoyed making a miniature doll house and general store. She retired in 2005.

She was a very strong woman, intelligent, and she had the greatest sense of humor clear up until the end.

She is preceded in death by her Father, Ernest Jones, Her Mother, Jesse H. Jones. She was the oldest of 6 children, also preceded in death, Mark Jones, Bob Jones, Judith Jones , Barbara Dooley of WA.

She leaves her Son, Ricky Roehr of Raytown, A Daughter Georgia (Roehr) McChan of Raytown and Jeannine (Luke) Frazier of Belton; a surviving Sister, Patricia Wright of KS and her husband James Wright. She also leaves her 3 Grandchildren, David McChan and his wife Colleen McChan, Jennifer McChan, and Ina McChan and her wife Deziree. Two Great Grandchildren, Mabry Brotemarkle, and Atticus Jackson of Raytown. Two Nieces, Amy Stramberg and Carrie Wright. Niece, RanDee Bristow, Shannon,Trisha and great nieces and nephews. She had many friends who loved her as well.

She chose cremation, and we as family and friends will have a celebration of life at a later date.
