Memorial Mass for Ernestine Bordelon Cooper of Bordelonville will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, with Rev. Paul Kunnumpuram officiating. A gathering will be held before mass on Saturday from 8:00am to 11:00am at the St. Peter Church Hall. Interment will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Bordelonville.
Ernestine Bordelon Cooper, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2024, at Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center in Mansura.
She had a passion for the outdoors, whether it was deer hunting or indulging in a ride through the woods scouting for deer, or just for recreation. Cooking brought her joy for family gatherings. Her love for animals knew no bounds, as she treated her dogs like her children and took care of many beloved cats. Ernestine, a compassionate soul, served as a maternal figure to many in need of guidance and care.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronald Cooper; sister, Lorraine Adams; grandchildren: Tony Dehart, Brooke Naquin, Josie Lawshe, Lauren Pagano; niece, Brenda Williams; godchild, Lynn Lavergne; seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie Cooper; daughter, Vickie Martinez; grandson, Nicholas Dunlap; mother, Pauline DeCota Lindsay; father, Jerome Bordelon; step-mother, Daisy Bordelon; sisters, Linda Bordelon Pokey and Brenda Bordelon Ortego; step-siblings, James Clark, Charles Gene Clark, Maggie Bordelon, and Delores Rachel.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home (318-964-2324) 115 Lemoine St. Moreauville, LA 71355.
