Ernesto Tongco Obituary

Ernesto, who most knew as "Ernie", was born on November 7, 1950 in Cebu City, Philippines to Demetrio and Juliana (Taneo) Tongco. He received his bachelors degree in Nursing from Southern Islands Hospital School of Nursing in 1972, and worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 40+ years. On September 19, 1993, he married his longtime partner, Loyda Idurot. They raised one daughter, Alyssa.
Ernie was referred to by many as one of the most generous, sincere, and kind-hearted men you'd ever meet. He truly cared for anyone and everyone he interacted with and was always offering assistance and support to those around him. He had a love for karaoke, music and watching action movies, but his greatest joy was being a grandfather to his first grandchild, Maddie.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Demetrio Sr. and Juliana Tongco, siblings Wilfredo and Julinda Tongco, and brother-in-law, Lord Parilla. He is survived by his wife, Loyda Tongco; his daughter, Alyssa (Nathan) Daniel; granddaughter, Madeleine "Maddie" Rose Daniel; brothers Demetrio Jr. (Lita) and Nemesio (Dimple) Tongco; sisters Asuncion Tongco, Epifania Parilla and Leah Tongco; sister-in-law Gloria Tongco; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 23 from 2-8PM at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory 24021 Royal Worlington Dr. Naperville, IL. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 24 at 10:30AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Community - Naperville (2003 Hassert Blvd, Naperville, IL 60564).A hosted luncheon will follow at the Tamarack Golf Club (24032 Royal Worlington Dr. Naperville IL 60564). Viewing/Mass will be live streamed via Facebook Live.
