Errol Russell Savage, age 84 of Fort Worth, Tx, passed away on June 24, 2025, at Life Care Center of Haltom in Haltom City, Tx.
Errol was born March 26, 1941, in Lyons, KS. Errol was the son of Russell F. & Edra Mae Savage (Ringeisen).
Errol joined the United States Navy in 1959 and served until honorably discharged in 1962 with the rank of AN (E-3). Errol served aboard the USS Ticonderoga from 1959-1961 and the USS Coral Sea from 1961-1962. While serving in the US Navy, Errol completed his High School GED in 1961 and learned lifesaving skills for air crew rescue as part of his duties.
Errol married Joan Charlene Mason on November 30, 1962, in Borger, Tx with Calvin O. Wiley officiating. Errol and Joan were married for 62 years at the time of passing. Errol and Joan have 2 sons, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Errol worked as an electrician with CMS Electrical Co-op., Texas-New Mexico Power, Southwestern Public Service and Excel Energy for over 35 years of combined service before retiring.
Errol especially loved motorcycles, woodworking, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Errol was also a licensed minister for several years through the Full Gospel Evangelistic Association sharing the message and love of Christ. His favorite words from the bible were “To know him is to love him” related to (1 John 2:3).
Errol never met a stranger and would openly have conversations with anyone that wanted to share their story. He enjoyed meeting and working with people that he made connections with.
Remaining to cherish Errol’s memory are spouse, Joan Savage; children, Gorden & Debbie Savage, Erron & Sharon Savage; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brothers, Denzel Savage; nieces and nephews.
Preceding Errol in death are parents, Russell F. & Edra Savage; sisters, Katie Savage, Sharlene Stauffer.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Lucas Funeral Home-Hurst Tx. Funeral/Memorial services will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Lucas Funeral Home-Hurst Tx., with Brian Grey officiating. Interment will be at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Monday, July 14, 2025 at 1:15 p.m. Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.
