In Loving Memory of Nancy Karen Phillips Gallian July 4, 1948 – August 5, 2025
Nancy Gallian, age 77, of Hurst, Texas, passed away peacefully in Southlake on August 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on the Fourth of July, Nancy lived her life with the firecracker spirit her birthday promised—joyful, devoted, generous, and strong.
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Nancy graduated from Paschal High School and went on to study at both Tarleton State University and Texas Christian University. She later dedicated many years of service to Texas Health Resources. She was a woman of grace, deep faith, and resilient strength—quiet, humble, and always putting others first.
Her faith was the quiet foundation of her life. A lifelong Methodist, Nancy was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Hurst for more than 50 years, where she worshiped, served, and grew in her relationship with Christ.
A proud Texan through and through, Nancy loved bluebonnets, Dr. Pepper, the city of Fort Worth, and the Texas Rangers. She was a collector, an avid reader, and a true movie buff. Some of her favorite joys were movie nights with popcorn and M&Ms, curling up with a good book, and spending quality time with her family.
Nancy held dear every relationship—with aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, both near and far. She had a gift for staying connected and making everyone feel remembered and important. As the eldest sibling, she worked to keep her family close—celebrating holidays, planning family trips, and preserving the everyday joys of togetherness. She was the center of many hearts, the family historian, and the keeper of beloved traditions.
Nancy was a gentle and kind soul with a fun-loving spirit and a quiet but mighty strength. She never complained, even in the most difficult times, and always turned her focus outward to those around her. Her first question was always a sincere, “How are you doing?”
Nancy’s legacy is one of love—deep, wide, and lasting. To be known by her was to feel cared for. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will continue to bless the lives of all who were lucky enough to know her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Virginia “Jenny” Parish Phillips and Robert “Bob” Oran Phillips, and her brother-in-law, Ben Haralson.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Gallian, whom she married in 2012. Nancy cherished their marriage and the many adventures they shared—traveling the world, exploring new places, and celebrating life’s big and small joys. In later years, as Nancy’s health declined, David became her devoted caretaker, surrounding her with love, laughter, Texas Rangers baseball, and the arts she adored.
Nancy’s greatest joy and most profound purpose in life was being a mother. She was a devoted and selfless mom to her three sons—Michael, Philip and Nathan Hulme. With courage, warmth, and endless love, she raised them on her own, creating a home filled with laughter, care, and unwavering support. Even through life’s complexities, she held tight to her role as their mother with grace and resolve. Her love knew no conditions—only commitment.
One of the greatest joys of her life was becoming Nana to her beloved grandchildren: Natalie and Luke Hulme, Madison White, Sarah and Julia Gallian, and Peter and Tuesday Greathouse. She was a constant, nurturing presence in their lives, never missing a milestone or moment of celebration. To Nancy, being called “Mom”—and later “Nana”—was her greatest honor.
Nancy is also survived by her siblings, with whom she remained deeply close throughout her life: Rhonda Haralson; Cheryl Browning and husband David; Scott Phillips and wife Monica. She adored her nieces and nephews: Eric Browning (Lauren), Hayley Rigdon (Kyle), Beau Haralson (Jenna), Jennifer Jackson (Victor), and Caroline Walker (Daniel); and treasured her great-nieces and nephews: Canon, Dawson, and Emery Browning; Price and Hayes Rigdon; Elisha and Emelia Haralson; Hazel Jackson; and Delaney Walker.
Nancy also embraced her blended family with joy. She lovingly welcomed and adored her stepchildren, Michael Gallian (Elizabeth) and Stephanie Greathouse (Thomas). She also treasured the women her sons brought into her life—Alison Hulme, Michelle Frost, and Paula Hulme—loving each of them as daughters in her heart.
Service Details: A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on September 14 at First United Methodist Church of Hurst. All who loved her are welcome to attend.
