Mrs. Maderriel Savage, affectionately passed away on August 19, 2025, at the age of 83. She was a cherished member of her community and a beacon of joy to all who knew her. Born on January 11, 1942, to her late father, Luther (Luke) Hagan Stroud, Sr., and living mother, Martha Evelyn Yonce of Townville, SC, Maderriel was a woman of vibrant spirit and boundless love.

Maderriel's life was rich with the love of family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Samual (Sam) Savage, with whom she shared the joy of raising their children, and by her second husband, James Cecil Milford, who shared her later years. The legacy of her loving parents and her brother Eddie David Stroud, as well as her grandparents David Stone, Sr., Martha Brunelle Lominick Stone, Sally Viola Hendrix Stroud, and Edward Stroud, live on through the stories she lovingly passed down.

Surviving Maderriel is her devoted mother, Martha Evelyn Yonce, her children John Albert (Al) Savage, Rhonda Savage Jones and her husband Jeff, and Michael Shane Savage and his wife Rebecca. Her life was further blessed with ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory in their hearts. Maderriel also leaves behind her sisters Deloris Garland, Nancy Johnston, Lallie Waites and her husband Ted, her brother Luther Hagan Stroud, Jr., and his wife Myra, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Maderriel's passion for sewing was more than a hobby; it was an expression of love. She crafted many of her children's clothes with care and made quilts for her grandchildren, which they lovingly called their "dragging blankets." Her hands were rarely still, and her creations will serve as cherished heirlooms for generations to come.

Music was the rhythm of Maderriel's life. She adored music of all genres, and it was not uncommon to see her dancing and clapping her hands whenever she heard a melody. Her spontaneous joy was contagious, and she could turn any moment into a celebration.

Yard sales were another of Maderriel's delights. She had a keen eye for treasures and would fill a room with her finds, each item holding a story and a special place in her heart. And then there was her beloved Pepsi Cola. A can of Pepsi was her constant companion, a small pleasure that she savored throughout her day, and is carried on today with her granddaughter, Jordan.

A Memorial Service for Maderriel will be at 2 o'clock on Saturday, August 23, 205 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sorrells and Greg Goins officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
