Ervin Carl Lott, Sr., born September 28, 1965, in Holcomb, Mississippi, entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2025, in Rochester, New York, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was the beloved son of William Bledsoe and Mattie Louise Lott (Christian), both of whom preceded him in death.
In 1968, Ervin moved with his mother and siblings from Mississippi to Upstate New York. He attended Newark High School and later earned his GED, an accomplishment he took great pride in. Blessed with skilled hands and a natural talent for craftsmanship, Ervin became a proficient carpenter, painter, and roofer. He loved working with his hands and was always willing to help with any project.
Ervin leaves to cherish his memory two loving children: Ervin Carl Lott, Jr. and Lezaria Lott; and two grandchildren, Kapri Rashelle Chung and Kartier Prince Chung, who brought him immense joy.
He is survived by his brothers William Everett (Xanthe), Kelly R. Lott (Lorraine), Larry Lott (Androinette), and William Jones (Gloria); and his sisters Dora B. Logins (Lonnie), Annie Obasi, Connie Shearn (Ron), Terlula Nelson, Thelma Lott, Jessie Davis (James), Lenora L. Paige, Dorothy Lott (Oliver Celestine), and Teresa Whatley. He is preceded in death by his brother Joseph Lott, and his nephews Stevie Brown and Mark Brown.
Ervin's legacy spans generations. He leaves behind 47 nieces and nephews, 107 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 65 great-great–nieces and nephews-a family he loved deeply. His eyes always lit up in the presence of his loved ones, and he took time to speak with each person, offering laughter, warmth, and connection. His unforgettable laugh will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
Ervin will be deeply missed, yet his spirit of kindness, hard work, and love will continue to live on in all those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace
