Canandaigua – Barbara (Holland) Wyffels Mack, age 92, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 11, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by four children, Richard J. "Rick" (Gina) Wyffels, Anne (Michael) Eble, Cynthia Wyffels and James C. Wyffels (Margaret Kuczety); son-in-law, William Johnson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Richard A. Wyffels in 1983 and Robert F. Mack in 2018; and daughter, Karen Johnson in August, 2025.
Barbara was born in Newark and was the daughter of James and Matilda (Cowles) Holland. She attended Newark schools and was a graduate of Newark High School, class of 1952. Barbara was a high school and college athlete. She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Keuka College in 1956. Barbara and Richard were married later that year in Newark.
In 1957, Barbara became the head nurse of the Ontario County Health Facility for over six years. She left the health facility to help her husband operate the family dairy farm in Canandaigua and to sell Vermont log homes with Schoen-Wyffels Log Homes.
In 1987, Barbara attended Roberts Wesleyan College for a refresher course in nursing. Following this course, she became a nurse with the Canandaigua Medical Group. Barbara later joined the Ontario County Public Health nurses and became a supervisor in 1989.
She and Bob were married in Canandaigua in 1992. Barbara retired from nursing in 1998. In retirement, Barbara took up golfing and bowling. She enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Barbara was a member and volunteer at St. Mary's Church and a volunteer for House of John in Clifton Springs and the Meals on Wheels program.
Friends may call Thursday, December 18, from 4-7 pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, December 19, at 11 am, at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Canandaigua. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Meridian Centre Blvd., Suite 110, Rochester, NY 14618 or House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, NY 14432. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com.
