Erwin Harold Ziemer

Erwin Harold Ziemer, age 89, of Naperville, formerly of Villa Park, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025.
Erwin was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette (Welk) and Erwin Ziemer, and his brother, Ronald Ziemer.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Winifred (Woodward) Ziemer; his loving children, Jean (Ziemer) Jepson and her husband Gregory Jepson, and David Ziemer and his wife Caitlin (Sterner) Ziemer; cherished grandchildren Alyssa (Jepson)and husband Grayson Jenkins, Tommy Jepson, Harlo Ziemer, and Annsley Ziemer; great-grandson Walker Jenkins; and his sister Marilyn (Ziemer) Plinske. He is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Erwin enjoyed a long and rewarding career with Zenith Electronics, and later worked part-time with Dr. Colletti, Dr. Jurgensen, and DuPage Medical Group. He was an active and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park, where he served as Council Chairperson and on the Property Committee. He also took pride in his involvement with the Kiwanis Club of Villa Park, through which he served his community with kindness and dedication.
In his free time, Erwin loved gardening, fishing, traveling, working on electrical projects, and good food. In later years, he found joy in word searches and puzzles, but above all, his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family. Erwin was an Eagle Scout and for many years he was active in scouting with Cub Scout Pack 32 and Boy Scout Troop 62.
Erwin will be remembered for his gentle, caring, and supportive spirit. His warm smile could light up a room, and his friendly nature made everyone feel welcome. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors alike.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or The Parkinson's Foundation.
Erwin's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
