Eugene A. "Gene" Ziemer

Gene Ziemer 84, of Plymouth, MN passed away on January 28, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan (Haug) Ziemer, his three sons: Tim and his wife, Dawn; Peter and his wife, Julianne; David and his wife, Kristen. Gene also had four grandchildren, Hailey, Bryce, Nate, and Ellie. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Gene was born June 16, 1941 on a farm near Sargeant, MN to Arnold and Ruth (Rush) Ziemer. He was raised on dairy farms in Arcadia and then Amery, Wisconsin, where he graduated from high school. While attending the University of Minnesota, he was asked to become the plant manager at W.E. Neal Slate company. He went on to own and operate the business over 50 years. Gene loved his family dearly and enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and making maple syrup.

Funeral for Gene will be held Friday, February 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake, MN at 11am. A visitation will be held one hour before the service.

Memorial donations can be given to Trinity Lutheran Church with "Music Program" in the memo.
