It is with a heavy heart that I, MarTina, write this. My godfather, Esley George Williams, a man of humble beginnings turned renowned stone mason, walked into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on October 14, 2025. Born on November 4, 1936, in St Ann, Jamaica, Esley spent his well-lived 88 years shaping not just bricks and stones, but also the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Esley was an empathetic soul, known for his generosity and warmth. He carried his roots from St Ann, Jamaica to his home in Waldorf, Maryland, where he lived for over half a century. In his 40-year career as a local stone mason and brick layer, he built more than structures; he built relationships. His humble nature and loving spirit were the cornerstone of his character, shaping every interaction and leaving a lasting imprint on those he encountered. Outside his occupation, Esley found joy in WWE Sports Entertainment, a hobby that brought him immense pleasure and countless hours of excitement.
Above all, what mattered most to Esley was his relationship with God. He lived by the verse, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13). He leaves behind his wife, Annmarie Wilson, and daughter, also named Annmarie. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mimi Johnson, and father, Davis Williams. For Esley, love was not a mere word, but an action, a daily practice of kindness and generosity that he extended to everyone.
Please join us to celebrate Esley's life on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Hemingway Memorial AME Church, 6330 Gateway Blvd., District Heights, Maryland, 20747. Visitation will begin at 10:00amEDT, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00amEDT.
In honor of Esley's life, we invite you to share your memories of him on the memorial page. Upload photos, write your experiences, and let's celebrate the man whose love knew no bounds. Esley's life was a testament to the power of love and kindness, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
