Our beloved mother, Esperanza "Hope" Yanez McManus, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on January 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with COPD and congestive heart failure.

Hope devoted her life to her family. She was married to our late father, Thomas McManus, for 60 years. She is survived by her children: Carol Aceituno (Jorge), John McManus (Denise), and Mary McManus; her sister: Beatrice Luna (Manuel); her grandchildren: Leticia Sierra-Fuentes (Ronald), Marcus Sierra (preceded), Alexis Galindo (AJ), Lorraine Gonzales, Nicole McManus, Kimberly Tallant (Jeremy), Christopher Gonzales, Justin McManus (Aubrey), Casey Garcia (Morgan), and Grace Lanphier (Dillon). She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Hope grew up in San Antonio, Texas, attended Burbank High School, and later earned her GED in Austin. During Thomas's Air Force career, they traveled the world and continued to do so with family. She retired after 20 years with Austin ISD Food and Nutrition Services, where she built lifelong friendships.

Hope loved cooking, sitting on her front porch, dancing, sewing, shopping for the latest fashions, sharing chisme, hosting parties, and watching Hallmark movies-especially Christmas ones. Known for her loving heart and generous spirit, she expressed her love through food.

Thomas and Hope later settled on five acres in Cedar Creek, where she embraced country life and gardening. She was an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. She admired the strength of her granddaughters, choosing them as pallbearers, and dearly loved all her mijos.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Seton Kyle Hospital and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care.
