Essie Dean Vasser, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 23, 2025, in her cherished hometown of Aberdeen, Mississippi. Born on July 12, 1956, Essie was a radiant soul whose spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her journey through life was marked by a profound love for her family and an unwavering kindness that will be deeply missed.
Essie was a devoted mother to her son, Timothy Vasser, and her two daughters, Nikie Thomas( Ronald and Alexandra Vasser who were the light of her life. She embraced the role of grandmother with joy, taking immense pride in her four grandchildren and showering them with affection. Essie's nurturing nature and warm heart created a loving environment where her family felt cherished and supported.
She is also survived by her beloved siblings, with whom she shared countless memories and cherished moments. Essie's three brothers—Wardell Haynes, Milton Haynes, Williams Austin—and her seven sisters—Gertrude Barr, Annie Buckingham, Lurleen Haynes, Martha Haynes, Dorothy Haynes, Fannie Burdine, and Rose Haynes—were integral parts of her life, and she held a special bond with each of them.
Essie was preceded in death by her father, Wardell Haynes, and her mother, Lurlean Shaw and brother, George Haynes. They instilled in her the values of love, strength, and perseverance that defined her character.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on August 2, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church on Egypt Road in Aberdeen. A funeral service will follow, starting at 2:00 PM, as loved ones gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Essie Dean Vasser.
While her presence will be sorely missed, her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her gentle spirit find peace, and may her family find comfort in the treasured memories they hold dear.
