Mrs. Estella “Stella” Sanders Anthony, age 72

Of Waverly, TN passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. She was born March 21, 1953, in Dickson, TN to Billy Sr. and Mary Sanders.

As one of the revered church mothers at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Stella was known for her unwavering faith, kindness, and the warmth with which she embraced all who entered through the church doors. Her contributions to the church community were many, from providing spiritual guidance to being a source of comfort for those in need. She had a gift for making each individual feel seen and cherished, fostering a sense of belonging among congregants.

Stella's love extended beyond her church family and reached into the heart of her own family, where she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She devoted herself to caring for her children and grandchildren, imparting wisdom and joy to each generation. Her kitchen was often filled with the delightful aromas of her baking, as she cherished the simple pleasure of preparing wholesome meals and sweet treats for family gatherings.

Stella’s legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a community enriched by her presence and a family that will carry her memory forward with love.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until service time Sunday, April 13th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Anthony will be conducted at 2:00pm Sunday, April 13, 2025, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rashad Muhammad officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
