Esther Hoffman Obituary
Esther Fay Hoffman, 88, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Newcastle. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Esther was born April 1, 1934 in White Oaks, New Mexico to the late Jerry and Fannie Lula (Thunderburk) Current. She married Sewell Hoffman November 20, 1948 in Newcastle and he preceded her in death October 16, 1991. Esther was a cook for Olney and Graham Hospitals and Newcastle School. She loved visiting with family, spending time outdoors, and sipping on hot coffee. Esther loved children and found great joy babysitting many children throughout the years. Esther was generous, loving, joyful, patient, caring and loved unconditionally. These beautiful qualities inspired everyone to be the same.
Survivors include: daughter, Diann Kinser and husband, Claude of Newcastle; brother, Jerry Wayne Current and wife, Susie of Mexia; granddaughter, Kimberly Eaton and husband, Dale of Rule; great granddaughter, Darcey Lewelling and fiancé Daniel Billeaudeaux of Denton.
She was preceded in death by sons, Jack Hoffman, Garland Phillips, and Ray Phillips.
