Esther Lopez, 79, passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Esther was born on June 29, 1945, in Lasara, Texas, to Santana and Juanita Cantu.
As a stay-at-home mother, she dedicated herself to her children, cooking meals with love, and offering her help wherever it was needed. Her love language was acts of service, always doing things for others, and she poured her heart into her family. Her presence was a comforting and constant force, and her nurturing ways will be deeply missed.
Esther had a warm and caring spirit, and loved decorating her home with horses, flowers, and butterflies.
She had a special fondness for watching Walker, Texas Ranger, often reminiscing about the strength and determination of the characters she admired. Esther also found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as they were the greatest treasures of her life.
Esther was preceded in death by her beloved son, Juan Lopez Jr., her mother, Juanita Cantu, and twin sister Estela Andrade.
She is survived by her children: Diana Lopez, Carmen (Joey) Dillard, Veronica (Ray) Mendoza, Guillermo Cerda Jr., and Socorro "Coco" Lopez. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Domingo Lopez Jr., Alicia Garza, Timothy Lopez, Desiray Vanegas, Emily Dillard, Jose Dillard III, Brandon Dillard, Carlos R. Muniz III, Skarlett K. Muniz, Raelynn G. Mendoza, Ramon G. Mendoza IV, Estella-Rae Mendoza, and Joshua Lopez. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Alexis Garcia, Dylan Romero, Dayshia Haynes, Damien Haynes, Zaven Lopez, Zaylen M. Lopez, and Allai T. Lopez, as well as her great-great-grandson, Josiah Joseph. Esther is also survived by her siblings, Andrea, Diamantina, Diana, who will forever cherish her memory.
Esther Lopez will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering love for family, and the beautiful life she lived. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by love, as she will continue to live on in their hearts.
Rest in Heaven, Mama "The Lady".
