FAIRBORN —Meyer, Esther Francis (Hoesl), age 86, formerly of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away December 2, 2025. Esther attended Mother of Mercy High School in Cincinnati and the University of Dayton. An avid blood donor for the Community Blood drives, she was also an active member of the American Red Cross and Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, where she served on numerous committees that included being the past CCD Secretary, the annual Festival, Christmas Bazaar, and the Bereavement Committees. Esther, a retired Civil Servant at Wright-Patterson AFB, had a lifelong passion for flowers, water skiing, and ice cream. She enjoyed boating and camping with the Dayton Power Squadron, her cherished cats, genealogy, and visiting her beloved family and dear friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Marie Hoesl; siblings, Mary Jean Hoesl, Wilma Barrett, Thomas Hoesl, Ruth Vogt, Charles Hoesl, Helen Olding, and Richard Hoesl; her husband of 55 years, Albert J. Meyer, Jr.; granddaughter, Ellen Garner; daughter-in-law, Kim Meyer; and great-grandson, Jonah Kiger. She is survived by her son, Joseph Meyer; daughters, Ann (Rod) Garner and Susan (Ed) Bailey; grandchildren, Benjamin Garner, Nicholas (Amy) Meyer, Dr. Elizabeth Bailey, (Thomas Magrino), Kaitlyn (Jaron) Kiger, Edward (Stephanie) Bailey, III; and four precious great grandchildren, Abigail, Jackson, and Henry Meyer and Caroline Bailey; siblings, Nicholas Hoesl, Clare Hoesl, Joan Schott, Joseph Hoesl; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Esther's funeral service will be held at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home Chapel located at 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, Ohio on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 10:30 a.m., Deacon Bob Gutendorf officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery, 3256 Trebein Rd., Fairborn. A luncheon will be served following the burial for family and friends at TJ Chumps at 1100 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, until 3 p.m. The family would like to express thanks for the wonderful help and care given by the devoted healthcare workers of Baptist Hospital of Gulf Breeze, Florida.
