Esther Marie Murtha, 93, of Keyser, WV, formerly of Boston, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Barbara (O'Connell) Reinhard. She was the wife of the late Kenneth John Murtha, who passed away July 17, 2010. Esther was a former member of Mary, Mother of God- St. Patrick Church in Christy Park. She enjoyed dancing with her husband at Johnny's in New Eagle. She was also a member of the Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens and the former Ladies Auxillary of Boston Vol. Fire Department. Esther was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen (the late Edward Jr.) Bock of Keyser, WV; sons, David (Carol) Murtha of Punta Gorda, Fl and Andrew (Holly) Murtha of Boston; grandchildren; Frank (Tina) Michaels, Jillian (Micah) Reel, Amanda (Jason) Loya, Nyssa (Casey) Smith, Edward Bock III., Danny (Jessica) Murtha, Dylan Murtha, Melissa Murtha, Dineen Murtha, Jacob Murtha, Olivia Murtha, Elizabeth Murtha, Ethan Murtha and Lindsey (Max School) Coffman; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Damon, Jonah, Claire, Logan, Evan, Alyson, Austin, Aleah, Zyler, Vivienne, Frannie, Sasha and Majesta; special nieces, Kathleen Sexton and Kathy Henderson; and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Marie Smarsh who passed away July 20, 2024; granddaughter, Rachael Ann Coffman; brothers, John and Thomas Reinhard and sister, Margaret Biedrycki. Friends are welcome on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with The Rev. Vincent P. Velas, officiating.
