Esther Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory - Bartlesville on Jan. 7, 2026.
Esther was born again and was baptized at 10 years old at Tulsa Baptist Temple in Tulsa, Oklahoma which started her lifelong journey of Loving of God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit and God's Holy Word which directed her life from that point on.

Esther Niomi Smith passed on December 29, 2025 with her loved ones by her side.

Esther was the sixth of eleven children born to Reverend Fred Watts and Ophelia Lee Watts.

Her family moved to Turley, Oklahoma when she was very young. She attended Morse Elementary School and later graduated from Cherokee High School in 1962. She married Frank Myers in 1963 and their marriage produced five children: Frank Edward, Betty Jean, Laura Lynne, Rebecca Carol, and Jack Dewayne. They divorced in 1982, then she and her young children moved to Bartlesville.

She married Bob Smith in 1985. The family moved to Florida for Bob's job, there Esther taught kindergarten which nurtured her love for young children. They moved back to Bartlesville, where she began her twenty-three-year career in school cafeteria service which she enjoyed very much. February 21, 1996 she and Bob adopted Esther's granddaughter Jane Delynne. They loved being parents again. Ten year later tragedy stuck when Bob was diagnosed with cancer and passed away one year later. She faced the tremendous task of rearing this child alone.

Tragedy struck again with the death of Jane Delynne. Because of Esther's Faith in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirt she was empowered to withstand these tragedies. She met Calvin Snider who became her companion until she graduated from this life to her heavenly home.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Rev. Fred Watts and Ophelia Lee Watts, and half-brother Bill Watts, sisters Phyllis Watts and Frances Bryan, brothers Frank Watts and Luther Watts, and daughter Jane Smith. She is survived by brothers: Joe Watts (Della), Manuel (Sarah), Ed Watts (Loretta), and Elbert Watts (Sharon). Sisters Rosie Carnagey (Don) and Rev. Mable Watts. Her children: Frank Myers, Betty Fashing, Laura Myers, Rebecca Tinsley (Terry), and Jack Myers (Beth). Grandchildren: Carrie McGahey, Amanda Myers, Dwight Myers, Phillip Douglas, George Myers, Amber Fashing, Candis Fashing, Reece Fashing, Erica Tinsley, Crystal Tinsley, Nathan Tinsley, Robert Hamblin, Rodney Hamblin, Samantha Casey, Shalene Myers, Riley Myers, Vanity Myers, Dylan Myers, and Duncan Myers.

Esther was Blessed to have 14 Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and Great nieces and nephews.

Esther will be missed for her loving and kind spirit, strength in the mist of tragedy from God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit, and always willing to help anyone in need.

Esther gone much too early, however never forgotten.
