We are deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Ethan Alexander Ackerman, 20, of Central, SC

Ethan was born on July 24, 2004, to Rebecca and Stephen Ackerman of Anderson, SC. He was a 2022 graduate of Daniel High School, where he was an offensive lineman on back-to-back state championship football teams. Ethan was a junior at Clemson University pursing a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology with a minor in Forestry. He was excited about a future in land management.

Ethan was the rock of our family. His broad shoulders and massive strength allowed him to support whoever needed his embrace. Ethan is missed by us all, but especially his grandfather and best buddy, Granddad Ackerman. Ethan and Granddad greeted each other by saying "You are a Fine Fella" each time that they saw each other.

In addition to his parents, Ethan leaves behind a host of relatives to cherish his memory. Siblings, Andy Thomas Ackerman (Jennica Kelm) and twin sister, Ellen Patricia Ackerman (Corbin Lennon); Grandparents, Mac and Patricia Ackerman; Aunts, Shannan (Jimmy) Huggins, Beth (Robbie) Hinson, Terry (Phillip) Lee, Margaret Ackerman; Uncle, John (Joni) Rickenbacker and 15 first cousins. He also left behind his beloved dog, Wesson, which will be left in the caring hands of Ellen Ackerman.

Ethan is preceded in death by grandparents, Dr. John H and Sue Ellen Rickenbacker and cousin, Phillip James Lee, Jr.

Ethan gave his family the greatest gift of all. On the dash of his truck laid his Bible with a large Owl Feather as his bookmark. That said it all... Ethan loved the Lord, and he loved Wildlife! Ethan's calling was the outdoors, and everything associated with it. Hunting, fishing, and working the land was Ethan's love. Ethan's preferred dress was camo, Carhartt, blue jeans, cowboy hats and boots. To honor Ethan, please wear some item of his favorite clothing at the service.

The service for Ethan will be held on Wednesday, January 29 at 11 AM at Keowee Baptist Church, 544 Keowee Baptist Church Rd, Six Mile, SC. Pastors Phillip and Rick Lee along with Pastor Jeff Stewart will be officiating the service.

Duckett Robinson Funeral Home in Central, SC is handling the arrangements.

Please note that the church is extremely small, and some people will be asked to take part in the service via an alternative option which may or may not include standing outside the church.
