Ethan Scott McGuinn, 35, of
Boiling Springs, South Carolina passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. He was the son of Randy Scott and Gretchin Hinson McGuinn and the loving husband of Kelli Walker McGuinn, his lifelong sweetheart.
Ethan was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and NASCAR Tech in Mooresville, North Carolina. After graduating from NASCAR Tech, he worked for several different automotive repair shops before settling into working with his family's business, Hinson Management, where he was the operations manager. Ethan was an avid drummer and played with many different bands over years. He had an incredible ability to pick up any instrument and start playing without any lessons. He was a fan of all types of music.
Ethan was a friend to all and never met a stranger. He had an incredible ability to have something in common with anyone he met. Ethan was genuine, unique and unapologetic about who he was and refused to judge others for how they lived their lives. He could spot a fake and wasn't afraid to call you out for trying to be something you were not. He loved fiercely. He was a walking encyclopedia of random knowledge, quick witted, always ready with practical life advice for those who asked, ready to help those who were in need and always ready with a smartass comment. It was never a dull moment when Ethan was in the room, and this world was better with him in it. Heaven gained a good one when Ethan entered the gates.
Left to cherish his memory are his two beautiful children, Kasey and Mia; sister, Megan Blackler (Collin); brothers, Matt Cooper (Emily), and Patrick Mosley; in laws, Craig, and Robin Walker; brother-in-law, Andrew Thompson (Amanda); nieces and nephews, Ella Thompson, Sawyer Blackler, Linley Blackler, Wyatt Cooper, Austyn Cooper, Layne Cooper, and Ryan Mosley; and grandparents, Jenneane Froman, and Linda Hinson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed Froman, Darrell Hinson, Gary, and Jewell McGuinn.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the Chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs, with Danny Siegfried officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family is gathered at the home of his parents Randy and Gretchin McGuinn of Campobello.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Appendix Cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Research Foundation at acpmp.org.
The service for Ethan will be livestreamed on the Facebook page for Eggers Funeral Home.
