Ethan Jeffrey Redding, 19, passed away on the 25th of May, 2024. Ethan was born in Bethesda, Maryland to Shawn Redding and Jessica Boore Redding. He graduated from Hickory High School only a year prior and was working at the local Home Depot while studying cyber security at TCC and awaiting a position into the Air Force. Ethan was a self-taught genius. He could take apart and rebuild cars, electronics, pinball machines, and program computers, all without formal training. He was a quiet mastermind who saw things in a completely different light than most. In addition to his brilliant mind, Ethan was selfless and kind. He would go out of his way to help friends and neighbors without ever being asked. A few of his favorite hobbies included creating extravagant firework and holiday light displays with his dad that brought thousands to the house, hockey, gaming, and anything that challenged his mind and handyman skills. At 18, Ethan found his niche in life when he started riding motorcycles. The motorcycle community brought Ethan out of his shell unlike anything else. He looked for every opportunity to ride his bike. He would meet up with friends to ride and would even stop to introduce himself to complete strangers also out on a bike. Ethan lost his life doing something he loved.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Shawn and Jessica, sisters Alexis and Brooke, and brothers Benjamin and Andrew Redding. However, Ethan will be missed by many more, demonstrated by the overwhelming amount of love his family has received from the community.
The family will receive friends and anyone who would like to pay their respects to Ethan at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23320 on Saturday, June 1st for a viewing from 5- 8pm and Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 where we will celebrate his life beginning at 1pm. Following the service, Ethan will be laid to rest in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Please come share your favorite stories and remember such a wonderful person who is greatly missed. My first memory of him was meeting him in my stats class senior year. We had classes before together but senior year he really was a bright light. He got me through class, let me talk about so many dumb things, always had some positive outlook on a situation, and overall was a really sweet and great friend to have experienced
