Ethaniel Christopher Alaniz

Ethaniel Christopher Alaniz, 22, passed away on August 26, 2025, in Fairfield, Ca. Ethan was actively serving in the U.S. Air Force and stationed at Travis Air Force Base. He was born on September 23, 2002, in San Diego, CA to his mother Rosalie Gonzales and father George Rodriguez.
At the age of six, both father and son moved to Houston, TX. There Ethan lived alongside his father and stepmom, Joan Rodriguez. She raised him like her own through highs and lows, success and disappointments. Ethan was always certain he would join the military from a very early age and joined the AFROTC to jump start his career. We take solace in knowing that he was living his life to the fullest before his untimely passing.
Ethan is survived by his loving parents, George, Joan, and Rosalie, his brothers Jacob, Marcus, Lucien, and his sisters Jacqueline, Alaina, and Layla. Ethan was the cherished grandson of Teresita and Arnoldo of San Benito, TX. He leaves behind many aunts and uncles along with cousins that loved him dearly.
The ones fortunate enough to have known Ethan or Chris, as some affectionately knew him, knew his amazingly beautiful and goofy smile and a laugh that could fill the world and engulf you with his joy. He loved playing video games and spending time with family on movie nights. The last few years of his life were filled with days in San Francisco and snowboarding in Lake Tahoe with friends. His journey on this earth was one marked with strength, compassion, honor and his unwavering love for his entire family members.
Although Ethan's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire each and every one of us. Thank each and every one of you for your continued support.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home & Crematorium.
A Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home & Crematorium with interment to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Rio Grand Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572.
