ALANIZ

Tomas Alaniz Jr., 51, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 22, 2025, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born in San Diego, Texas on August 20, 1974, to his parents, Tomas and Lillian Alaniz. Tomas was a 1992 graduate of San Diego High School and later moved to Freer, Texas where he resided. Tomas enjoyed spending his time doing arts and crafts, cooking, baking, and making his specialty (pan de polvo), going to Kickapoo, barbequing, spending time with his family and friends and especially listening to music and doing karaoke. Tomas was a loving and caring son, brother and uncle who will be sadly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Lillian Alaniz; two sisters, Betty Ann Alaniz and Priscilla Alaniz; one brother, Jose Alfredo Alaniz.

Tommy is survived by his brother, Michael (Amy) Alaniz of Freer, Texas; his three sisters, Nancy (Tony) Sanchez of Alice, Texas and Annabell Casso (Jose Jimenez) of Benavides, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Freer, Texas.
