Debra "Debbie" Schane, 70 years of age was called home on Saturday, August 16, 2025 where she is no longer in pain but in eternal rest. She was born April 13, 1955 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Norma Hensley. She was raised by her mom and stepdad Sonny Berthold. In her teen years, she came across the Schane boys and Joe was her pick and they continued their love for 54 years in marriage. They had a one of a kind love and were always ready for a good time at Club 44 or The Last Chance. Debbie has three children, Michael, Larry, and Brandi whom she loved to scare with her Noxzema and witch mask. Her greatest joy came later in life when she got the title of grandma. Her whole life was devoted to her grandkids. Debbie will be missed by all of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norma and Sonny Berthold and her brother, Larry Joe Hensley.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband, of 54 years, Joe Schane, her two sons, Michael (Tammi) Schane of San Antonio, Texas and Larry Schane of Freer, Texas. Her one and only daughter, Brandi (Tommy) Hernandez of Freer, Texas. Her beloved grandkids Cortlynn, Katie, Mikayla, Danni, Hunter, Laura and Audrey. Her one sister, Donna Hensley Serna of Freer, Texas. Debbie had many nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas with a Service at 5:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the funeral home that evening.

As per Debra wishes, there will be no burial as she will be cremated and be returned to her loved ones.
