Ethel Mae Eckerman 92 of Warren, IL passed away on Monday February 10, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1932, in South Wayne Township, WI to Chester and Pearl (Burkhalter) Mau. She married Donald Eckerman on December 2, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gratiot, Wisconsin and together they raised 3 children on their family farm. Ethel was a hard worker and farmed alongside her husband. As a family they would go up to Lake Yellowstone on Sundays to go swimming, fishing, and water skiing, and make it back at night to do chores.
Ethel loved being a vendor at the Warren Farmers Market selling bread, vegetables, pickles, jam, and crafts. She cherished taking trips up near Wisconsin Dells to her daughter Linda's house where she fished, helped with projects, and attended some festivals. She also enjoyed going to the dog track in Dubuque, gardening, crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by her son David (Judy) Eckerman of South Wayne, WI, and daughter Marlene (Ron) Knight of Freeport, IL; six grandchildren- Julie (Todd) Wenger, Brad (Kirsten) Eckerman, Shawn (Amanda) Eckerman, Jeff (Erin) Eckerman, Melissa (Kevin) Palmer, and Crystal Daniels; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald in 2005; and daughter Linda in 2004 sister- Marian (Jules) Gallagher and Brother – Lester (Marjorie) Mau.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 14, 2025 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren, IL with a visitation from 9:30 am until time of service.
Officiating the service will be Father Andrew Hernandez.
Burial will take place at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Warren, IL.
A memorial has been established in her name.

I loved Aunt Ethels breads and jellies. She was always busy. She was great help when mom was ill. My mom and Ethel were very close and done allot of things together. We enjoyed visiting Aunt Ethel and sitting out in the back yard. You will. be truly missed.
