Funeral services for Ethel Inez King Ray, 98, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Bro. Eddie Ray will officiate. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to the time of service.
Ethel was born on September 20, 1926 in Waverly, Louisiana and went to her eternal home on April 8, 2025. She was a homemaker and loved raising her 6 children. Ethel enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search, reading books and magazines. She also had a passion for writing songs and poems. Ethel was a Christian woman and read her bible often. She is preceded in death by spouses, Clois Ray and LeRoy Ray; children, Randy Ray, Elleane Harrison and Ted Ray; grandchildren, Dale Smead and Tracy Pace; son-in-law, Jerry Smead; parents, Jessie and Vera King; sisters, Deanie Baggs, Mattie Ruth Baggs, Lilly May Perritt, Sally Brown, Nettie Sue Soesbie, Minnie Bell King, Bessie Louise Bracheen, Maffie Marie Davis and Virgil Graves; and brother, Marvin Edward King.
Ethel is survived by children, Shirley Ann Smead, Elizabeth Inez Willis and husband Billy and Roy Lee Ray and wife Sharon; son-in-law, William H. Harrison; grandchildren, Eddie Ray, Sharon Ray, William Ray, Brad Ray, Dave Smead, Sherry Stafford, Genie Smead, Chris Barkley, Kevin Willis, Todd Willis, Suzanne Hodnett, Tod Neal, Tracy Warshaw, Stephanie Edwards, Cheri Caldwell, Stephen Harrison and Shawn Harrison; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews; along with other extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Willis, Peyton Hodnett, Kevin Willis, Caleb Edwards, Seth Edwards and Dave "DJ" Smead, Jr.
