Ethel Mapp Obituary
Mrs. Mapp passed away on November 29, 2025, in Tyler.
Ethel Marie (Oliver) Mapp was born on October 26, 1939, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was the daughter of Don LaVan Oliver, Sr. and Artie Mae (Conklin) Oliver. Ethel was a member of Athens Life Fellowship and worked as a manager in various manufacturing plants for many years. One of her greatest joys was serving as a foster grandmother at Washington Elementary in Midland, Texas, where she dedicated 17 years of her life. She loved volunteering with the Girl Scouts, Casa, and supervising visits with Child Protective Services (CPS). Ethel was a truly remarkable woman with a big heart!
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Mapp; her son, Robert Mapp; and her brother, Don Oliver.
Survivors include her children, J.D. Mapp, Kim Gallegos, and William Mapp; her sister, Dorothy Bigelow; her grandchildren, Jay Mapp, Marissa Mapp, Amanda Mapp, Britney Mapp, Joshua Mapp, Madelyn Mapp, Jason Perez, Chance Jergens, Annabelle Mapp, Vincent Gallegos, Breanna Gallegos, and Madison Gallegos; her great-grandchildren, Nyah Mapp, Jace Becker, Kade Mapp, Greyson Hardin, Olivia Stone, and Kennedy Stone.
