Ethel Jones Page, 89, of Valdese, passed away, Wednesday August 27, 2008, at Autumn Care Nursing Center of Drexel following a period of declining health. Mrs. Page was born on July 2, 1919 in Rutherford County to the late Johnny Jones and Nellie Hutchins Jones. She was retired from Alba-Waldensian and was a member of the Valdese Church of God. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Page; three sisters, Irene Scruggs, Mildred McGalliard, and Margaret Riggs; one brother, Woodrow Jones; and a grandson, David Mabrey. Survivors include her two sons, James 'Jim' Page and wife Nancy and Paul 'Bub' Page, both of Valdese; her daughter, Linda Mabrey and husband Wayne of Connelly Springs; her sister, Mary Lois Little and husband Ken of Forney, TX; her grandchildren, Tammy and Rick Barnes of Hickory, Kim Pastuzaka and husband Stan of Ellijay, Ga., Jamie Norton of Valdese, Terry Page and wife Emily of Jonesboro, Ga. and Larry Richardson and wife Laura of Locust Grove, Ga.; her great grandchildren, David Barnes, Trent Barnes, Paige Barnes, Katie Pastuzaka, Brenton Pastuzaka, Alex Norton, Caroline Norton, Callie Page and Mattie Page; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday August 29, 2008 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory in Valdese. Officiating will be Rev. Garland Grooms. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Valdese. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30-3:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory in Valdese. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd. Valdese, NC 28690. An online guestbook and obituary is available at www.heritagefuneralservices.com. Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
