Ethel Jones Roscoe, widow of Hilliard "Pigeon" Roscoe Sr., passed away at her residence after an illness. She was 90 years old.
Ethel was born in Aynor, SC on July 9, 1935, to the late Jimpsey V. "JV" and Belle King Jones. She was a Cafeteria Manager of ARA Corp. through JP Stevens. She enjoyed cooking, country music, driving her Jeep and Blazer, and spending time with her family and having family gatherings. She was the kindest sweetest person you ever met.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; sons, Johnny Roscoe (Sherry) and Prentiss Eugene Roscoe (Brenda); daughters, Betty Roscoe Hagan, Connie Goins (Ricky), Barbara Jo Lowery, and Mary Kaye Roscoe Balser (Gordon); a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above; sons, Hilliard Roscoe Jr., Charles Roscoe, and Jerry Roscoe; son-in-law, Sonny Hagan; great granddaughter, Kailey Marie Garner "Moon Pie"; and her siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Bennettsville, officiated by Rev. Brian Thompson, with burial in the Roscoe Family Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm just prior to the service.
