Ethelean Henneghan Frison was born in Florence County, South Carolina on January 22, 1940 to the late
Walter Lee and Mattie Myers Hennighan. Surrounded by her children, Ethelean entered eternal rest at
Medical University of South Carolina, Friday, February 14, 2025.
At an early age, Ethelean became a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church in Coward, South Carolina
where she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. After marriage, she joined Savannah Grove
Freewill Baptist Church where she faithfully served on various ministries: Youth Sunday School Teacher,
Youth Choir Director, Gospel Choir Director, Usher Board, Missionary Board, Praise Team, and Event
Planner. Ethelean was a dedicated sister of Bright Light Chapter #188 Order of Eastern Stars District IX
for over 50 years.
Ethelean received her formal education in Florence County Schools. She was employed at Wentworth
Manufacturing Company during her early years. Ethelean dedicated fifteen years of her professional
career in Bridal and Formal wear to Tyndall's Bridal Shop in
Florence, South Carolina. After twenty
years of service, she retired from alterations and support from Belk's of Florence where she was the
recipient of numerous awards including the Pace Setter award exemplifying commitment to quality,
service and overall performance. Ethelean's true joy in life, however, came from her family. She shared
forty-nine wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband, the late Eddie Frison Jr., creating a
strong and enduring partnership built on love, trust, and mutual support. Together, they raised five
beautiful children and built a home filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ethelean had a zest for life along with a diverse range of talents and
interests. She was the owner and operator of Ethelean's Exclusive Shop where she designed, created, and
altered clothing for her friends, family and community. She had a passion for sewing, gardening, writing,
performing, and traveling. Ethelean loved family gatherings at her home, especially Christmas
celebrations with her children and grandchildren.
Ethelean was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Frison Jr. and son, Nathaniel Frison; Son-in-law,
Charles Eaddy; Grandson, Zachary Frison; Sisters, Edna Mae Hawkins and Allie Mae Frison; Brothers,
Walter Hennighan, and Henry J. Hennighan.
Precious and lasting memories are cherished by four children: Sharon Frierson Eaddy of the home;
Elizabeth Jenkins, (Johnnie) of Wilson, NC; Eddie L. Frison (Rose) of Myrtle Beach, SC; Anthony M.
Frison, (Stephanie), Tuscaloosa, AL; Daughter-in-Laws, Barbara Frison, Effingham, SC and Sharon
Frison, Coward, SC; Seven grandchildren: Charleton Eaddy (LeAndria),
Florence, SC; Terrell Frison,
(Arriana) Timmonsville, SC; Staci Frison, (TJ Warren), Aldephi, MD; Jon Wesley Jenkins (Liz), Fuquay
Varina, NC; Karisma Shanice Barr,(Mike) Coward, SC; NaQuan Frison and NaShon Frison, Effingham,
SC; Six Great Grandchildren: JaCari Frison, Ki'hilayaisa Daniels, Kaydence Gamble, Jerimiah Lewis,
Amari Frison and Karter Barr. Two sisters: Pecola Rollins, Arlington, VA; Bertha L Wade,
Gaithersburg, MD, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
