Etta Linssen Obituary

Etta Marie (Peterson) Linssen of St. Paul, MN passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 4 at Sholom Assisted Living in St. Paul.
She was born on November 6, 1925, in Yankton, SD and attended school there. After graduating in 1943 she attended McKennan School of Nursing in Sioux Falls, SD. After receiving her degree in 1947 she worked as a registered nurse in Pierre, SD.
She was married to Albert Linssen in Pierre, SD in 1948 and moved back to Sioux Falls where she worked at McKennan Hospital until 1962 when they moved to Marshall, MN. She was employed at Weiner Memorial Hospital until 1984. After she retired she did volunteer work with the Red Cross blood mobile, Crippled Children's Clinics, Senior Dining and the Senior Center. She was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She loved music, dancing, bowling and playing cards.
Etta is survived by her 8 children, 4 daughters; Toni Louwagie, Anita Garcia, Mary Blakely (Don) and Julie Booth and 4 sons; Michael, Mark (Mary), John (Danica) and Christopher (Dalia). She has 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert and son, Matthew.
There will be a celebration of her life on Friday, July 11, at 1:00 p.m. at the Horvath Funeral Service in Marshall, MN, followed by visitation and fellowship.
