Etta Martha Young

Etta Martha Young found her heavenly rest at her home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
She was born on April 8, 1949 to the late James and Hazel Kirkpatrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Rev. Larry Young, daughter, Priscilla West, granddaughter, Heather Bell, several brothers, including Alvin, Harry, and Benjamin "Bud" Kirkpatrick, and a sister, Jessie Kirkpatrick.
Etta was a retired home seamstress. She loved God and singing, always having a song in her heart. Her biggest joy in life was her family, especially the grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Barbara Young (Mark Crawford) and Melissa Buckner (Matthew Anderson); grandchildren, Alex Russ (Lily), Aaron Russ of the home, Sierra Buckner, Teyha Bell, and Faith Crawford; great grandchildren: Reagan Russ, Emma and Owen Russ of the home, and Liza and Jerry Basham; special friend, William Ramey; and many more loved ones.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Meadow Fork Baptist Freewill Church with Reverend Keith Waldroup officiating. Interment will follow in Haynes Top Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
