Frank "Leo" Blackwell

Frank "Leo" Blackwell, 74, of Marshall, NC, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.
Frank was born on October 30, 1951 to his late parents, Jack and Bonits Blackwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon Rice Balckwell, and his brother, Teddy Blackwell.
Frank worked as a Machine Operator at Deringer-Ney, Inc. for 45 years until he retired in 2019. He enjoyed hunting with his son Adam and his grandson Tanner. He also enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, and mowing. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Frankie Blackwell (Priscilla) and Adam Blackwell, three grandchildren, Summer Robinson (Collin), Tanner Blackwell and Gracee Blackwell, a great grandson, Coast Robinson, sister, Pat Lewis (Kenneth), brothers, Billy Blackwell, Robert Blackwell (Lucille), Buddy Blackwell, Danny Blackwell (Sandy) and David Blackwell; and several nieces and nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Services with Pastor Darrell Woody officiating. Interment will follow in the Gunter Family Cemetery on Flint Hill Road.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
