Patsy Charlene Gentry

MARSHALL – Patsy Metcalf Gentry, 71, of the Shelton Laurel Community of Marshall, NC, peacefully passed away in the presence of her family on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Patsy was born on March 12, 1954 in Greeneville, TN, to her late parents, Earl and Ola Mae Shelton Metcalf. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joe Gentry.
Patsy spent most of her life in Madison County where she lovingly raised her family. She was a warm and beautiful person and extremely devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was also a member of Tree of Life Church.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Jenny Gentry Freeman and Kenya Khodayar; two sons, Kaleb Gentry (Eve) and Jerry Waites; nine grandchildren: PJ Freeman (Samantha), Aaron Waites, Jerissa Waites, Kelisha Khodayar, Bryar Khodayar, Brandon Waites, Ashley Khodayar, Kristen Holzclaw, and Kelcie Holzclaw; sister, Linnus Cutburth (Brent); special nieces, Kathy Partin and Penny Glenn; and very special niece, Rosie Bustos.
A combined funeral service for Patsy and Joe will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Services. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 – 1:00 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for memorial contributions to be made to Madison Funeral Services to assist with final expenses.
