Eugene Franklin Amonett better known as "Gene", age 87, of Creed Huddleston Ln. in Byrdstown, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 2, 1932 in Byrdstown, TN to Oren Cullen Amonett and Eula Grace (Jones) Amonett. He was a member of the Byrdstown First Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army and a USDA inspector.
Eugene is survived by (2) Sons: Jeff Amonett and Wife: Paula, Trent Amonett and Wife: Maria ; (3) Sisters: Carolyn Mitchell, Patricia Michalek and Linda Sheets ; (1) Brother: Fred Amonett ; (7) Grandchildren: Bailey, Brianna, Gage, Olivia, Jacob, Jonathan and William. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: Oren Cullen and Eula Grace Amonett ; Wife: Roxie Amonett ; (3) Brothers: Phillip, Joe and Harry Amonett ; (3) Sisters: Marie Boles, Ruth Baum and Nell Cross.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. from Byrdstown First Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Amonett, Bro. Rick Cross and Bro. Ivan Raley officiating. Burial will be in Amonett Cemetery.
* The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Chapel *
* The body will lie in state at Byrdstown First Baptist Church, Friday morning from 9:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M. *
