Mrs. Phyllis Kaye (Burgess) Amonett of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Medical Center in Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 73 years, and 25 days. She was born on Wednesday, June 11, 1952, in Albany, Kentucky, the daughter of Gail & Lucille (Vincent) Burgess. Phyllis was of the Christian faith and a devoted member of Westview Christian Church since 1971. She was deeply committed to the fight against cancer, dedicating over five years of her life to actively supporting Relay For Life. She is survived by her husband Jack Amonett, whom she wed on December 31, 1970, son, Vince (& Amy) Amonett, both of Albany Kentucky, sister, Patricia (& Donnie) Sewell, grandchildren, Brennen Amonett, Raegan Amonett, special nieces, Kim Sewell, Zada Groce, Juli (& Travis) Denney, Alisha Tolbert, and many other family and friends.
The funeral service was conducted on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Tipton officiating and special music by Brennen Amonett and Jack Amonett. Burial was in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky.
