Eugene T. Chmiel Sr.
Irondequoit: Peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by parents, Frank and Helen; siblings, Mary, Joseph, Leonard, Henry, and John; great granddaughter, Ada Grace. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 72 years, Frances; children, Debbie (John) Smith, Kathy (Don) Spring, Michael (Lynnette) Chmiel and Eugene (Dawn) Chmiel; grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Smith, Melissa (Matt) Sherman, Tim (Megan) Spring, Christina (Eric) Cornwell, Michelle (Fred) Lapple, Julie (Phil) Bechard, Joe (Jemi) Spring, Joshua (Molly) Chmiel, Jennifer Chmiel, Brian (Nicole) Chmiel, Andrew (Taylor) Chmiel; great grandchildren, Matthew, Jillian, Alexander, Aubrey, Jacob, Billy, Maggie, Logan, Felicity, Theo, Melody, Elliott, Freddie, Charlie, Sam, Tommy, Lyla, Iris, Ella, Maddy, Dylan, and Lydia; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Don) Williams and Rose Zolnierowski; several nieces and nephews.
Gene was a Korean War Army Veteran. He retired from Eastman Kodak Co as an electrician. He enjoyed being around his family, golfing (where he accomplished 3 holes in one), fishing, dancing and was the life of the party.
His family will receive friends Sunday, December 15, 1-4pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to meet the family Monday, December 16, 1:00 pm at St. Stanislaus Church for his Funeral Mass. Inurnment private Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Friends of St. Stanislaus Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 17059, Rochester, NY 14617
