Eugene Albert Gemborys, 97, died January 24, 2023, at Heywood Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his wife Eva M. (Richard) Gemborys; two sons, Mark Gemborys and his wife Janet of Rutland, and James Gemborys and his wife Carol of Leavenworth, KS; four grandchildren, Brian Gemborys, Nicole McGurin, Brandon Chase and Rhea Chase; six great-grandchildren; Evan McGurin, Liam McGurin, Henry Gemborys, Hazel Gemborys, Adian Butt and Cameron Butt; one sister, Irene Stacy of Templeton; one brother, Richard Gemborys of Gardner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eugene is predeceased by two daughters, Paula Chase, and Dodie Gemborys.
He was born in Gardner on February 17, 1925, a son of the late, Paul and Helen (Bukowski) Gemborys.
He served in WWII in the US Navy as a Quarter Master 2nd Class.
Eugene worked for over 30 years as a Postal Carrier at the Gardner Post Office.
He was a member of the VFW and the Eastern Mass Beagle Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
A calling hour will be from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral.
Burial with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475,
