Eugene F Gick

Eugene F. Gick, age 77 of Lombard. Beloved husband of Carol Gick, nee Wood; loving father of Cheryl (Mark) Berman, and Sandy Gick; dear son of the late Sophia, nee Lutz, and the late Leo Gick; cherished grandfather of Kayleigh Berman; brother of Gerre (Richard) Davit; brother-in-law of Judy Schermerhorn, and Donna Schley; uncle, relative, and friend of many.

Gene was a proud army veteran, honing his mechanical skills fixing tanks in Germany during Vietnam. He later used those skills for over 30 years as a Mechanic and eventual Foreman for Commonwealth Edison. After retirement, he used his many mechanical skills as a handyman at Oakbrook Community Church. He was widely known as a jack of all trades, being more than willing to offer his skills to fix things for family and friends.

He was a lifelong Chicago sports fan, especially the Cubs. He was an avid reader and history buff. He was particularly proud of his '64 Dodge Dart Convertible, and his many furry canine companions over the years. His greatest devotion was to his family, especially his two daughters and granddaughter.

Visitation Saturday, February 7, 2025, 9:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd. (3 Blks S. of Roosevelt) Lombard, IL 60148. Interment Private.
