Eugene Anthony Goll

AHOSKIE, NC - Eugene Anthony "Gene" Goll, age 52, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, at ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina, surrounded by his beloved family. Gene was born on December 5, 1972, in Lakehurst, New Jersey, to Conrad Anthony "Butch" Goll and the late Eileen Frances Fredericks Goll.
Gene dedicated his career to the field of security, finding great fulfillment in ensuring the safety of others. Beyond his professional life, Gene was a man of varied passions and interests. He was a devoted fan of the Carolina Panthers, proudly cheering them on through every season. His love for dogs was well-known among his family and friends, as was his enthusiasm for wrestling and car racing, where he enjoyed spending time at the track.
Preceded in death by his mother, Eileen Goll, Gene is survived by his loving wife, Shonda Walden Goll of the home; his cherished father, Conrad "Butch" Goll of Ahoskie; his stepson, Terrance Walden and his wife JaCoyia of Oceanside, California; his treasured grandson, Jaylon Walden, and beloved Godson, Elijah Whitfield. He also leaves behind a dear aunt, Judy Fredericks of Norfolk, Virginia, and cousins Crystal (Mark), Alexis, and Charlotte. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, William Walden and wife Tamara, and Melvin Walden and wife Eulonda, sister-in-law, Julia Walden. Gene will be sorely missed by many cherished friends who had the privilege to share in his life's journey.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM for a visitation. A celebration of Gene's life will take place on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the same location, officiated by Rev. Dr. Eddie Vinson. Interment will follow at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church Memorial Gardens, Woodland, North Carolina.
