I grew up in Lumbering, the son of Dr. Joe Alexander, and knew Mr. Hackney my entire childhood. He was a wonderful man who I remember for his love of UNC along with John Rancke, and how he loved to tease my father, who was a Wake Forest man. Men like him were rare when I was a youth...and today there are none.
