Robert Timothy “Tim” Blankenship, age 63, of High Point, NC, departed this life at his home on February 19, 2026.

Tim was born on January 31, 1963, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He graduated from Asheboro High School in 1981 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina in 1989. He also earned the rank of Eagle Scout just two days before his 18th birthday.

Tim was incredibly intelligent sometimes too smart for his own good and seemed to know a little about everything. If he didn’t know something, he would find out. He loved a good conversation and could talk for hours, even if he was the only one talking. Tim was handy and could fix just about anything, and he never passed up the chance to stop at a thrift store. He loved cats dearly and cared deeply for his family, especially the little ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Norma Blankenship and his brother, Joel Patrick Blankenship.

Tim is survived by his daughter Sophie Rebecca Benson Blankenship; his brother, Edwin Lee Stanley Blankenship; his sisters, Laura Elizabeth Turner and Martha Christine Bailey; nieces and nephews, Robert, Andrew, Larissa, Edward, Kelly, William, and Carson; great-nieces and great-nephews, Rowan, Daniel, Ryly, Skyland, Eston, and Kash; and his beloved cats, Marty, Louise, and Persie.
