It is with deep love and fond remembrance that we celebrate the life of Eugene Edward Jaynes, 93, of Bristol, CT who passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, At Village Green Health Care Center, Bristol, CT. He was the beloved Husband of Betty (Miller) Jaynes.

Mr. Jaynes born on June 7, 1932, in Danbury, Connecticut, the beloved son of the late Arthur and Anna Frances (Hart) Jaynes.

"Eddie" or Gene as he was affectionately called, was a proud graduate of Bethel High School (Class of 1950) and Bullard Havens Technical School in Bridgeport. After his education, Gene went on to serve his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army where he received an Honorable discharge. Following his military service, Eugene built a life grounded in discipline, faith, and hard work.

On July 22, 1989, Eugene married Betty Miller, his devoted wife and faithful companion for many years. Eugene was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose quiet strength, steadfast values, and unwavering sense of duty left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

In addition to his loving wife, Betty, he leaves to cherish his memories, daughter; Anna Jaynes, grandson; Darren Greene II of Fayetteville, NC, great-grandsons; Darren Greene III and John Greene, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts. Eugene was preceded in death by his three sisters: Arline Jaynes-Robinson, Gloria Jaynes-Royster, and Betty Lorraine Jaynes-Major.

Eugene's life was one of quiet resilience, deep faith, and steadfast love. Though he has left this earthly home, his spirit endures in the lives and memories of all who were blessed to know him.

"Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts."

Farewell My Friends
Farewell My Friends
It was beautiful
As long as it lasted
The journey of my life.
I have no regrets
Whatsoever said
The pain I´ll leave behind.
Those dear hearts
Who love and care...
And the strings pulling
At the heart and soul...
The strong arms
That held me up
When my own strength
Let me down.
At the turning of my life
I came across
Good friends,
Friends who stood by me
Even when time raced me by.
Farewell, farewell My friends
I smile and
Bid you goodbye.
No, shed no tears
For I need them not
All I need is your smile.
If you feel sad
Do think of me
For that´s what I´ll like
When you live in the hearts
Of those you love
Remember then
You never die.
