Mr. Johnie Earl Anderson, 74, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 24, 2025 at his home.

Johnie was born on September 3, 1951, in Wilson, North Carolina, a son to the late Christine Anderson-Simmons.

Affectionately known as "Earl or Little Man" to his family, Johnie attended Wilson, NC Public Schools before relocating to Waterbury, becoming a lifelong resident. In his early years, he was educated and attended the Waterbury public school system. Johnie worked at various jobs in the Waterbury area and was employed for many years by the Summit Corporation of America until his retirement.

Johnie was known for his love of good snacks especially oatmeal pies, though his all-time favorite was honey buns. He could often be found enjoying one of his favorite treats while watching sports. An avid sports fan, Johnie especially loved wrestling and rarely missed a match. In the later years of his life, he also developed a growing interest in politics, following current events closely and engaging in thoughtful conversations about the world around him. His curiosity, sense of humor, and easygoing nature made him a joy to be around, and he brought warmth and laughter to every gathering.

Johnie leaves to cherish his loving memories with his longtime companion, Joyce McLellan, and her family of Bristol, Connecticut, his beloved children; Taloria (Chris) Eason, Bryson Fuller, and Jacina (Kevin) Anderson, all of Waterbury; Johny Anderson of Michigan; a stepson; Marquist L. Parker Sr. of Waterbury, siblings; Peggy (Herb) Simmons-Wilson of South Carolina, Brenda (Reginald) Simmons-Sears of California, Barbara Jean Williams of North Carolina, and Vincent Simmons of Waterbury, sister-in-law, Belinda Anderson, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by daughter, Jennifer Stewart, sister Linda Faye Anderson and brother, Anthony Anderson. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Johnie leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
