Eugene Kamrass Obituary

 

On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Eugene Joseph Kamrass, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 93.

Gene was born on December 11, 1929, to George and Fannie Kamrass in Floral Park, New York. On March 29, 1953, he married Dolores Esther Woodward. They raised one son, David, and one daughter, Debra.

Gene served in the United States Air Force for 22 years as a hospital administrator. He had a passion for running and exercise. After retiring from the Air Force, Gene went back to school to earn a Masters degree in Physical Education. When his three grandsons expressed an interest in track and field, he coached them as well as other youth on local track teams for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dolores Esther Kamrass, Highlands Ranch, Colorado; son, David, and wife, Tammy, Highlands Ranch, CO; daughter, Debra Prell, and former husband, Gary Prell, Sacramento, CA; and sister, Ruth Steegman, North Tonawanda, NY. He is also survived by three grandsons, Graham Prell and wife, Erica, San Jose, CA; Joshua Kamrass and wife, Nicole, Durham, NC; Matthew Kamrass, Boulder, CO; and two great-grandsons, Ari Prell and David Kamrass.

Services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO, 80122, at 10 a.m., followed by a reception, then burial, at 1:30 p.m., with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236.
